Construction Account Manager

Suluutaaq is looking to hire a Heavy CivilConstruction Account Manager for their operation in Oregon. The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing financial management, invoicing, budgeting, and accounting processes for civil construction projects. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost tracking, and compliance with contractual obligations while working closely with project managers and clients to maintain financial health and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight & Reporting:
  • Manage and oversee project financials, ensuring accuracy in forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit & loss statements, cost reports, and variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and other regulatory requirements.
• Invoicing & Accounts Management:
  • Prepare and process client invoices in alignment with contract terms and payment schedules.
  • Track outstanding receivables, follow up on payments, and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure proper documentation and timely payments.
• Budgeting & Cost Control:
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with scope and contractual terms.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement financial controls to prevent budget overruns.
  • Work with project managers to forecast cash flow needs and adjust financial plans accordingly.
• Contract & Compliance Management:
  • Review contract terms to ensure proper financial execution, risk mitigation, and adherence to payment schedules.
  • Assist with change order management, ensuring additional work is properly documented and billed.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in construction finance, accounting, or project management (preferably in heavy civil construction).
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (Procore, Project, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, job cost accounting, and contract billing.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
