Job Title: Manager of Housing Outreach
Department: Human Services
Reports To: Chief Program Officer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours: Full Time
Summary
The role of the Outreach Housing Navigator Manager will primarily work from and drive a social services bus, determining client eligibility, facilitating access to housing programs and ensuring clients are linked to coordinated intake. This person will investigate new housing options and work with area landlords to increase Sulzbacher's portfolio of rental units. This person will assist clients with getting linked up to needed services in the community. The Outreach Housing Navigator will oversee the staff below and ensure compliance with all grants and grant reporting requirements pertaining to the social services bus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Determine client eligibility for housing programs
2. Ensure clients are linked up with coordinated entry and have completed a vulnerability assessment
3. Investigate new housing options and work with area landlords to increase portfolio of rental units
4. Ensure clients are linked up with needed resources in the community
5. Operates Mobile Medical Unit in a safe manner. Informs supervisor of any unusual situations or accidents immediately.
6. Complies with all traffic safety rules and regulations.
7. Inspects and maintains vehicle pre and post trip for operational readiness and safety issues. Maintains
8. Ensure staff are maintaining records according to established standards
9. Ensure that all required data elements are entered into Client Track within 24 hours
10. Ensure all grant requirements are being met pertaining to the outreach bus
11. Form cooperative networks with public and private housing providers
12. Inform Case Managers about available housing options and assist them with any housing assistance
13. Provide periodic workshop meetings for guests educating them on available housing options
14. Participate in conferences, workshops, special projects and staff meetings
15. All other duties as assigned

Is sensitive to emotional, spiritual and practical needs of residents, families, guests and staff members in all interactions. Provides positive feedback and comments about the quality of work and effort that have been offered by residents, families and coworkers. Adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific customer needs. Reports and/or corrects problems related to safety, cleanliness and comfort of resident. Universal Precautions and Infection Control techniques are followed. Understands own role facility safety plans and procedures related to fire, weather and other disasters is demonstrated.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a helping profession and 2 years' experience working in Social Services or 8 plus years' experience working in social services
  • Knowledgeable of housing resources
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to manage crisis situations
  • Personal car and valid Florida driver's license
  • Acceptable annual Motor Vehicle Record check
  • Adhere to required insurance coverage levels (Bodily Injury & Property Damage Liability:
$100,000 each person; $100,000 each accident) if driving a personal vehicle for work-related purposes
  • Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
