Join our Energy  team within Flow Equipment  division in United States as Quality Manager, Nuclear to help us take our business to the next level. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

 

  • Implement and maintain facility Nuclear Quality Program – encompassing manufacturing and engineering support of equipment in compliance with Federal regulations 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, ASME Section III, NQA-1 and non-safety related, customer specifications.
  • Local ESH liaison interfacing directly with division ESH Specialists to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for our coworkers
  • Maintain Quality Assurance Manual and Quality records in accordance with industry regulations and Sulzer requirements.
  • NQA-1 Lead Auditor and qualification of Sulzer lead auditors. Participates in NIAC and manages execution of Sulzer audits to support NIAC participation
  • Leads SNSC Audit activities for NUPIC, ASME N and NPT Certifications, UL, and others as required.
  • Maintain Approved Vendors List through evaluation and qualification of vendors in accordance with industry regulations and Sulzer requirements.
  • Qualification and Certification of personnel for special processes – welding, non-destructive examination, NQA-1 Lead Auditors, and others as needed
  • Certification of Levell III Inspection and Test Personnel.
  • Implement procedures and systems controlling Non-Destructive Examination and calibration of measuring and test equipment.
  • Control of nonconformances and corrective actions
  • Implement Commercial Grade Dedication Program in partnership with Sulzer Nuclear Engineering Manager
  • Interface with vendors and customers as needed

 

 

  • Develops and maintains essential management reports in accordance with Sulzer business needs.
  • Review Management Audit results with the GMNS and report regularly on the effectiveness of the Quality program to the GMNS

 

 

  • Budgets and manages Quality Assurance department cost

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
  • Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards
  • Recommends capital spending to GMNS for improved efficiency and quality
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities include management of employee duties, document control, management of projects, compliance with established programs, generation of management reports, interviewing, hiring, and training coworkers, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
  • Functions as part of the facility leadership team, interfacing and partnering with the GMNS and peer leaders of Engineering, Operations, and Sales departments to meet business goals and implement policies and initiatives.
  • Fosters customer service and solution-oriented culture.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering degree required, combination of equivalent technical degree and years of experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in the Nuclear Quality field required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience associated with implementation of quality assurance programs.
  • Currently certified as a Lead Auditor in accordance with ASME, NQA-1, 2008.
  • Commercial nuclear power experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ASME NQA-1, and ASME Section III program implementation. Knowledgeable in the areas of industrial standards and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a Commercial Grade Dedication program
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a QC role in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing disciplines preferred.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • SAP experience preferred.
