Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc. (SEIP) is seeking a National Sales Manager in San Marcos, CA. The National Sales Manager (NSM) position is responsible for generating and substantiating sales targets in collaboration with the Executive Management team to meet company objectives for all product lines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing a strategic sales and marketing plan based on company goals to promote sales growth and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for developing strategic customer targets within various markets by leading all sales growth efforts through existing and emerging market penetration. Through this development, the NSM, in conjunction with Executive Management, will utilize defined sales objectives, strategies, and programs to promote all product lines with the support of the Sales Group.
- Responsible of all personnel related to sales, including Regional Sales Managers, Customer Operations, Manufacturers Representatives, and Customers are the direct responsibility of the National Sales Manager.
- Responsible for supporting accounts receivable in meeting collection DSO goals.
Sales Personnel Management:
- Leadership skills that contribute to the overall team approach regarding the Customer Operations Department, Regional Sales Managers, and Manufacturer’s Reps.
- Provide programs and guidance to increase productivity, performance, and goodwill within all levels.
- Initial and support all performance reviews by working with Human Resources on annual reviews of all persons directly reporting to this position and supporting and reviewing those within the Customer Operations group.
- Actively participate with Human Resources in recruiting additional Sales personnel and developing personnel succession plans based on the company's overall goals and budgets. In addition, work with Human Resources regarding any issues related to the performance of direct reports.
Sales Management:
- Organize and plan quarterly and bi-annual sales meetings, including the input of the Regional Sales Managers for forecasting and budgeting purposes. Implement and coordinate the sales budget with Executive Management as part of the Annual Fiscal Budgeting process.
- Create and promote programs related to sales activities to exceed the annual Sales Plan and Budget. Motivate all sales members to perform to the highest levels and expectations, keeping with the goal of continuous and profitable sales growth through these programs.
- Evaluate and monitor all sales territories through reporting data as well as visiting key customers, Manufacturers Reps, and Regional Sales Managers on a rotating basis. Supply recommendations and take action when necessary to achieve the sales budget.
- Direct the sales team to support accounts receivable and meet company goals concerning DSO.
- Work with Product Managers and Executive Management by coordinating and introducing new products into the marketplace.
- Provide or coordinate personnel training on product-specific applications, as well as upgrades and changes across all product lines.
- Support and help facilitate sales opportunities by directing necessary company assets via strategic planning and internal communication with all levels within the organization.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of experience in outside sales and service of heat shrink tubing, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Five to 10 years of experience in Electronic or Wire Processing industries.
- A high level of computer experience is essential to include all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong organizational and motivational skills with close attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate within all levels of the organization and with external customers and associates is essential in working within the policies and guidelines of the Sumitomo Business Spirit.
- Must demonstrate and project professionalism, ethics, and integrity consistent with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
- The ability to adjust and adapt to changing situations.
- The ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
- The ability and availability to travel extensively locally, nationally, and internationally.
The base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 to $145,000.00 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.
