campusSEA Chef Instructor - summer camp
campusSEA is a co-ed, residential summer culinary program for high school students who are very passionate about cooking. We are located in Seattle, WA. We are looking for a team of chefs who are not only passionate about cooking, but passionate about teaching too! Our ideal candidate lives in the Seattle area and who is comfortable working with and controlling a large group of teenagers. This person is a leader and can command a classroom or kitchen easily. We want to hire a person who is ready to work as a team, support the other chefs and students, and have fun!
We need someone high energy, who likes working with students, and is very organized to teach young minds the fun culinary and pastry worlds!
The ideal candidate will be able to command the attention of the students, be able to delegate, sometimes work individually with kids, and teach to all skill levels. Also, the candidate must commit to the 3 weeks of work, so is likely to work somewhere where they have summers off and are looking for summer employment.

Staff kitchen orientation: July 20th, 2025

Focused hours for the Chef Instructor:
- Typical Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- 8-9am, arrive at the kitchen to begin to set up for the students arrival
- 9-Noon, instruction and preparing for camp lunch service
- Noon - 1pm, lunch service for camp and staff, clean up and student break
- 1-4pm, instruction and camp dinner service preparation
- 4-6pm, dinner service for camp and staff and clean up
- Fridays are the cooking competition days. These days the chefs will make lunch for the students while they are working within their groups on their menus. These foods will be judged by local judges in a fun and lighthearted competition. Then students will help clean up and leave. This is always the most fun day. Parents join to watch the competition and get to taste some of the creations!

We are looking for someone who is naturally a fun, responsible, amazing person who gets the power of community and connection that the summer camp environment creates and empowers. Someone who understands the possibility this program can create in the lives of the students. We provide the space for the students to make life-lomg friends and have powerful opportunities for personal and academic growth. Anyone who has ever been to summer camp before knows how important the activities and the camp community is to the overall experience. The counselors are not only an exciting and upbeat presence, they are also friendly mentors to the students. For some kids this is their first sleep-away camp experience; others are about to enter senior year and want guidance on the process. Your job is to look after the well-being and fun of every student.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a Culinary Program OR Real world experience in the restaurant or catering setting.
Have experience instructing in some sort of professional capacity.
Having attended any kind of summer camp or program is preferred, not required.
Fun, smart, quick on your feet, responsible, and amazing is preferred!
A person of integrity and responsibility.
Compensation:

: $1300.00 /week
