In 2025 the Summer School Site will be based out of Lawrence, Michigan but travels to the school districts of Bloomingdale/Pullman, Covert, Decatur, Gobles, Lawton, Lawrence, Mattawan and Paw Paw.

Varies, but averages 35-40 hours per week. Evenings and Weekends are required.
Classification: Part-time seasonal work that is grant funded.
Job Goal(s):
The primary responsibility of the Highly Qualified Home based Paraprofessional is to assist the Home teaching staff carry out instructional activities. Due to a variety of reasons some of our students cannot attend the Summer Migrant Program on site. Our HOME staff go to the homes or Migrant Camps to provide instruction weekly to these students.
The duties of the Highly Qualified Home Paraprofessionals are to assist students individually or in small groups with instructional needs planned by the teacher.
Specific tasks may include the following:
- Read with individual students or read stories to small groups
- Give Assessments to students under the direction of the Home teacher or assessment team
- Assist with instructional projects
- Assist students with Credit Accrual or PASS courses
- Assist the teacher in preparing and maintaining materials for instruction
- Communicate with parents regarding the progress of students in the Home Program
- Assists teacher to maintain accurate records
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license required
- High school diploma or equivalent AND meets or exceeds “highly-qualified” paraprofessional requirements per Title I. (60 hours or more of college credits or passing score or higher on Educational Testing Service Paraprofessional Test.)
Other skills or requirements: Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
