Description:
This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of weekly Friday family field trips for elementary school students and their families during the summer. Caregivers will be able to attend the field trip with their children and the elementary school community. Field trips will be on 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/01, 8/08. The coordinator will work with a team to select and organize engaging field trip destinations, arrange transportation and food, and develop accompanying educational materials. They will serve as the on-site leader, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants, and facilitating learning experiences during each trip. Responsibilities include managing logistical details, providing guidance to families, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment that promotes learning and community engagement. Beavercreek, Gaffney Lane, Holcomb, Candy Lane, and Redland will each have a Family Field Trip Coordinator who will work collectively to plan trips.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Collaboratively plan 5 field trips for families to attend on Fridays
- Collaboratively create educational materials to support student learning during field trips
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of the field trips, including transportation, food, and admission.
- Develop a comprehensive schedule for weekly field trips.
- Obtain necessary permissions and approvals for field trip locations.
- Manage budget and track expenses related to field trips.
- Provide on-site instruction and guidance to students and families during field trips.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during field trips.
- Manage attendee count, and maintain accurate attendance records
- Communicate effectively with parents and families regarding field trip details and expectations.
- Provide information and resources to families to enhance their field trip experience.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Address parent inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide reports to school administration.
Qualifications
- Licensed Oregon Educator Preferred
- Previous experience organizing a field trip
- Multilingual applicants preferred
- CPR/First Aid Required
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices for all families

Terms of Employment
April- August
- Additional hours outside of work hours will be spent collaborating with team of Field Trip Coordinators in April-June to plan field trips and prepare materials
- Attend field trips 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/01, 8/08
Five (5) positions are available.
Rate of pay: $25.00 per hour
