NORRIS ELEMENTARY - 12424 Weir St, Omaha, NE 68137
Dates: June 4 - July 9, 2025 Monday-Thursday (No school June 19)
Program Times: 8:00-8:30 Breakfast
8:30-11:45 Class
11:45-12:15 Lunch
12:15-3:30 Enrichment Activities
Teachers Work: AM or Full-day Duty Begins at 8:00 AM
AM duty ends at 12:30 PM
PM Duty begins at 11:30
PM or Full-day duty ends at 4:00

SUMMER LITERACY AND MATHEMATICS (SLAM) TEACHING POSITIONS
Courses that are eventually chosen for summer school are dependent upon student enrollment.
HIRING PROCEDURES
- Applications are to be submitted on-line by March 17, 2025.
- Hiring of elementary staff will first involve the attempt to provide a full schedule for teachers. To assist us in this endeavor, candidates must identify all of the courses they feel qualified to teach.
- Interviews for elementary positions will be conducted as needed. Further information will be provided at a later date regarding the time and place of interviews.
- Salary: Summer school teachers will be paid $34.00 per hour for teaching and planning time.
- Planning time will be paid at the rate of one hour for every five hours of teaching.
- Every attempt will be made to ensure notification of teaching and staff assignments by May 10, 2025. Please note that adjustments may be made after this date to accommodate enrollment.
Teaching assignments will be made by the Summer Literacy & Math (SLAM) Administrator.

Note:
If you are employed for summer school, and planning to retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year, Millard will report your last day worked at the conclusion of your summer school assignment in June or July (depending on sessions worked). This means your earliest retirement date is July (if you finish working in June) or August (if you finish working in July). Please contact Human Resources if you have any questions about working Summer School and starting your NPERS retirement benefit.
