WSSD Summer School Programs Substitute Teaching Positions

The Summer School Programs are for WSSD students, ages 5 through 22.  The programs run four or six hours per day, four days a week, for four or five consecutive weeks. In these programs students receive reading, math, writing, speaking, listening, art, recreational, social skills, athletic, and community based instruction tailored to their individual needs. The programs integrate computer-based instructional technologies that allow students to focus on specific areas of need.

Responsibilities:

• Implement instructional program for students as planned by class teacher

Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certificate
• Prior experience preferred
• Wallingford-Swarthmore School District employee preferred
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents 

Schedule:

• June 23 through July 17, 2025 (4 weeks), or June 23-July 24, 2025 (5 weeks); Monday through Thursday; as determined by supervisor
• 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for Secondary Program per day
• 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for Elementary Program per day 

Salary:      $150 per day for Elementary and Secondary Programs

                 $190 per day for Summer Panthers and Elementary Extended Day Programs
