Summary/Objective
The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing fundraising activities to support the mission of the Summit Educational Foundation. This position will cultivate donor relationships, organize fundraising events, manage grant applications, and secure funding from diverse sources including, but not limited to, individuals, foundations, corporations, and government entities to support the goals of our Summit Academy Schools. Essential Functions
- Fundraising Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
- Identify and prioritize funding opportunities, including major gifts, annual giving, grants, and sponsorships.
- Donor Relations:
- Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Develop personalized donor outreach plans to enhance donor engagement and retention.
- Acknowledge gifts promptly and maintain accurate donor records in the donor database.
- Grant Writing and Proposals:
- Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to applicable foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements and maintain positive relationships with funders.
- Event Planning:
- Plan and execute fundraising events such as galas, auctions, and donor appreciation events.
- Secure event sponsorships and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
- Community Engagement:
- Represent the organization at community events, networking meetings, and speaking engagements to promote the mission.
- Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, community leaders, and school supporters.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Track and report fundraising progress to leadership, including metrics on donor engagement and revenue.
- Monitor fundraising trends and adjust strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with leadership, board members, and staff of Summit Academy Management to identify funding needs and opportunities.
- Assist in developing marketing materials and campaigns to support fundraising efforts.
Competencies
- Knowledge of fundraising regulations, tax laws, and best practices
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to craft compelling donor communications
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and stewarding donor relationships
- Familiarity with grant writing and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of local and state funding sources and networks
- Proficiency in donor management systems, e.g., etapestry and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and requires some travel for donor meetings, events, and community engagements.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours for fundraising events or donor engagements.
Travel
Travel within the state is needed to perform job-specific tasks, meetings, events and training, approximately 10-20%.
Required Education and Experience
- Proven experience in fundraising, development, project management, or a related field (minimum 3–5 years)
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field
- Experience in education-focused fundraising or non-profit organizations
