Job Description:
The Thrasher Mountain Manager will oversee the Skateboarding/BMX Program, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Present skateboarding and BMX lessons with enthusiasm and expertise.
- Demonstrate skillful wheel sports abilities and teach customers how to achieve these skills.
- Provide intentional instruction to novice riders in BMX/skate.
- Assist in setting up and takedown of BMX/skate facilities.
- Evaluate participant safety during activities.
- Turn paperwork into supervisor on time.
- Collaborate with other wheel programs as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by SBR leadership.
Requirements and Training:
- Be 18 years old or older.
- Prior experience teaching or riding skateboarding or BMX is preferred.
- Prior experience maintaining skateboards or bikes is preferred.
- Prior experience maintaining skateparks or BMX tracks is preferred.
- Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily.
- Register or become a registered member of Scouting America.
Performance Metrics:
- Complete contract period with positive experiences.
- Receive Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants.
- Contribute memorable moments to participants.
- Improve the Skate/BMX program.
Physical Requirements:
- Work for up to 8 hours standing, walking, hiking, or lifting 50 pounds.
- Pass physical exam and meet SBR height and weight requirements.
Uniform and Housing:
Wear Summit staff uniform. Live in a 10x12' Platform Tent at Staff Camp.
