• Position Title: Kennel Technician
• Location: Summit Canine LLC, Lehi, Utah
• Employment Type: Part-Time
• Pay Rate: $15/hr.

Summit Canine LLC is a trusted dog boarding, daycare, and training facility located on a spacious property in Lehi, Utah. We are a small-scale facility that welcomes dogs from any background, including those with aggression, anxiety, and hyperactivity. Our goal is to provide exceptional care, a safe environment, and loving attention to every dog in our care.

Job Summary:

The Kennel Technician ensures the health, safety, and comfort of dogs while maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas of the kennel. This role involves hands-on care, cleaning, feeding, running socials, and monitoring dog behavior.

Responsibilities:

Daily Care & Dog Handling:

• Feed dogs according to individual dietary needs and schedules.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Monitor dogs for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior.
• Provide fresh water throughout the day.
• Supervise group socials and ensure safe interactions between dogs.
• Bathing and drying dogs

Cleaning & Sanitation:

• Clean and disinfect kennels, play areas, and feeding stations.
• Wash bedding, bowls, and toys daily.
• Remove waste and maintain cleanliness in outdoor play yards.
• Regularly clean and sanitize common areas, including walkways and client drop-off zones.

Facility Maintenance:

• Ensure secure fencing and enclosures are properly latched.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately.
• Keep kennel supplies stocked (e.g., food, cleaning supplies, poop bags).

Customer Service:

• Greet clients professionally during drop-off and pick-up times.
• Provide updates to clients about their dog’s behavior and wellbeing.
• Assist with check-in/check-out processes.

Administrative Tasks:

• Keep accurate records of feeding, medication administration, and behavior observations.
• Update client files and care instructions.
• Assist in inventory management and supply ordering.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Engage and carry out any other reasonable requests received from management.
• Handle emergency situations calmly and professionally.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:

• Passion for working with dogs and commitment to their welfare.
• Previous experience in animal care preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

Schedule:

• Schedule is flexible. We work with most schedules and can accommodate many changes. We have work from 7am-8pm that we can schedule you around. We can talk more about this during the interview process.
