Job Title: Construction General Manager

Job Summary:
Summit Construction and Development is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction General Manager to oversee our construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize project performance, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Lead teams to execute grading, clearing, demolition, underground utilities, concrete, and asphalt paving projects with precision and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, safety standards, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with public sector clients, contractors, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and successful project outcomes.
  • Analyze project performance metrics and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and resolve disputes effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Construction Management) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management or a similar leadership role, with a focus on civil construction.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale public sector construction projects.
  • Extensive experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Trello, or similar tools).
  • Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations specific to civil construction.
  • Expertise in cost estimation and project scheduling techniques.

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and direct project teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure situations.

Certifications (Preferred or Required):

  • OSHA safety certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential.

Other Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $117,406.00 - $124,060.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift

Work Location: In person
