Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a concentration in business or administration with accounting major or minor and coursework in financial analysis and auditing.
Minimum requirement of an Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration.
Minimum of two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports.
Two years' experience in accounting or bookkeeping with food and beverage experience a plus.

Job Summary
The Junior Accountant creates financial transactions and generates financial reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from source documents such as invoices to members and guests, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The Junior Accountant also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy, maintains inventory and purchasing controls.
Job Tasks / Duties
Overseeing and ensuring timely completion of food and beverage inventories and identifying and addressing variances on a month-to-month basis
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory controls including budget to actual analysis
Answer members’ questions regarding billing
Coordinates with the Controller for the collection of members with a delinquent balance, contacts members for collection, and sends suspension letters
Work with Human Resource and the Controller in processing bi-weekly payroll including employee benefit deductions, reviewing timecard entries, reconciling employee tips, and preparing payroll-related journal entries
Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related software
Works with department heads to maintain and update the point-of-sale (POS) systems as needed for menu / price changes
Supervises the Purchase Order system and helps ensure expenses are properly approved and budgeted for
Prepares accounting reports as directed by the Controller for dissemination to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other club committees
Work with other departments as needed for analytical support and guidance
Help prepare accounting reports for the Controller and assist with other clerical work as needed
Completes other tasks or assignments as directed by the Controller or their designee
Physical Demands and Work Environment -
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. occasionally
Continuous repetitive motions
Stand or sit for extended periods, up to eight hours daily
Perform occasional bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
