This position is responsible for supervising the daily work performance of SSA team members. Must strive to meet the Agency mission and exemplify the Agency’s core values.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field required.
Experience: Four years of verifiable paid related experience in DD programming. One year of supervisory experience required. (Strong demonstrated leadership skills through experience in project management, committee leadership, mentoring, etc. may be accepted in lieu of supervisor experience.)?
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs. Creative problem-solving skills. Obtain and use equipment, facilities, and materials required to perform work. Operate job related equipment including the use of basic computer programs and systems. Do data entry, generate reports, copy, manage and track documents and information.
Certifications: DODD SSA Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND OTHER EXPECTATIONS
Knowledge: Understanding of DODD SSA rules and regulations. Understanding of Federal and State Medicaid regulations. General principles and objectives of information technology systems and programs. Proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure to ensure that written materials prepared and reviewed are complete, succinct, and free of errors. Principles, practices and methods of safety and health as it relates to persons served, employees and the public. Processes and procedures for interviewing and hiring qualified candidates. Gather, analyze and interpret data. Establish employee performance expectations and effectively use the progressive discipline process.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: OUTDOOR / COMMUNITY
This is a community-based role. Work is normally performed primarily in the community. The employee may be subject to extreme and adverse weather conditions. May be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, communicable diseases, potentially infectious materials and/or aggressive behavior. May be required to travel. May be exposed to fumes/odors; work with lubricants, chemicals, and cleaning solvents.?
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:
1. Planning and direct the daily work activities of the SSA assigned team; assigning and monitoring work duties and responsibilities; establishing and modifying work methods, schedules, and priorities. Monitors TCM Billing. Elevate critical issues to manager.
2. Communicating and enforcing policies and procedures; resolving problems; addressing employee concerns and complaints.
3. Monitoring and maintaining records of employees’ work hours, overtime/compensatory time, sick leave, vacation, performance, and related information; authorizing time worked and recommending the approval/disapproval of leave requests.
4. Ensuring appropriate training of assigned team; identifying training needs; developing and implementing training activities.
5. Assist with meeting yearly department outcomes.
6. With guidance from manager and labor relations, participates in disciplinary process as needed.
7. Assist SSA with budget planning for individuals.
8. Guide the person-centered planning process including team meetings, ISP development and monitoring and authorizations. Oversee the development and implementation of MUI prevention plans.
9. Problem-solve new or complex cases with SSA assigned team.
10. Attend community and team meetings as necessary.
11. Collaborate and support the provider community.
12. Assure effective and respectful relations with all agency personnel and community, including persons served, families, Probate Court, MUI Investigative unit and other stakeholders.
13. Assure compliance with applicable governing, accrediting and licensing bodies, as well as Board policies.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
