Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and adaptable assistant teachers/center and roving substitutes to join our early childhood programs (head start, early head start, PreK counts and childcare) teams. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering a positive learning environment and supporting infant, toddler and preschool children and their families. As a center or roving substitute, you will step assist in various childcare, head start and preschool classrooms as assigned, following agency and childcare regulations. The center substitute is utilized to cover absences and is assigned in different classrooms as needed. Your role will be crucial in maintaining continuity in care, education and providing a safe, engaging atmosphere for children.
Center Substitute - is a full-time position, 32.5 up to 8 hours/day, 260 days/year. Minimum requirement is a high school diploma and must be able to document 2 years experience working with young children. The center substitute primarily works out of the Lewistown Children's Center working in infant, toddler and preschool classrooms. The center sub will be asked to travel to another facility to help out when needed. Center substitutes with a high school diploma will be required to pursue obtaining a Child Development Credential (CDA) within in 2 years of hire with SUMMIT Early Learning support.
Roving Substitute - is a full-time position, 32.5 up to 8 hours/day, 200 days/year (9 months/year). Minimum requirement is a high school diploma. Experience working with young children is preferred. The roving substitute primarily works out of the Lewistown Children's Center working in head start/preschool classrooms. The roving sub will be asked to travel to another head start facility to help out when needed. Roving substitutes with a high school diploma will be required to pursue obtaining a Child Development Credential (CDA) within in 2 years of hire with SUMMIT Early Learning support.
Rate of pay based on education:
2 years’ experience : $15.56/hour
CDA: $16.81/hour
Associate or Bachelors Degree: $17.40/hour
