Primary Responsibilities:
- Commitment to Quality and Safety: Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all aspects of work.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Maintain consistent and punctual attendance, adhering to designated shift schedules or pre-arranged work hours.
- Program Development: Interpret technical drawings and write CNC programs that include the appropriate methodology, tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds to ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet established standards.
- Setup Sheet Creation: Develop setup sheets based on predefined criteria to ensure efficient machine setup.
- Program Revisions: Modify existing CNC programs and documentation in response to engineering changes.
- Collaborative Communication: Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality teams, and shop personnel to address and resolve machining or quality-related issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with applicable state and federal regulations, the company’s ISO Quality Program, internal procedures, and safety and environmental guidelines.
- Other Duties: Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- CNC Programming Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming, including operating manual and CNC machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, tape measures).
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and interpreting geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
- Knowledgeable about various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used in CNC machines.
- Software Proficiency:
- Experience with Catia V5 and Vericut in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in using general software tools like Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Problem-Solving and Innovation: Ability to solve problems, manage tasks effectively, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work environments.
- Basic Math Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours daily).
- Capability to work around CNC machines to evaluate program effectiveness and collaborate with machinists.
