Job Overview
Summit Environmental Solutions is seeking an experienced and dynamic Superintendent to lead our government contract construction projects with a focus on historical renovations and facilities management. The ideal candidate will possess a solid general knowledge of construction trades and a proven track record in managing complex projects in compliance with government regulations. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure that all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and historical integrity.
The role requires the candidate to be able to access various Military bases across the Hampton Roads area.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day construction operations on government contracts with a focus on historical renovations and facilities management.
- Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all projects adhere to historical preservation guidelines, building codes, and government contract requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain rigorous quality control and safety standards.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Supervise on-site personnel, subcontractors, and trades, ensuring clear communication and effective coordination among all parties.
Communication & Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the site and Summit Environmental Solutions’ management.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily/weekly reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and any deviations from project plans.
- Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to update on progress and goals.
Problem Resolution:
- Identify potential issues and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and disruptions.
- Ensure that any changes or unexpected challenges are managed efficiently and communicated promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction supervision/management, with a strong background in historical renovations and facilities management (or similar experience).
- Demonstrated experience managing government contracts is highly desirable.
- Ideal candidate will have 5 years in managing government contracts and leading projects to completion.
Technical Skills:
- Solid general knowledge of construction trades, methods, materials, and safety practices.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other related tools.
