General Position Summary:
Responsible for providing operational support for the Pharmacy Department under supervision of the Pharmacists.
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:
· Gathers medications to be distributed to departments and omnicell.
· Delivers medications and requested items to departments and omnicell.
· Prepares IV admixtures and delivers to med rooms.
· Gathers medications to be delivered to patient drawers.
· Maintain patient records.
· Communicates effectively with healthcare providers and nursing.
· Performs monthly unit inspections as assigned.
· Performs Home Medication Reconciliations on all admitted patients.
· Miscellaneous clerical duties.
· Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the SHINE Behavior Standards.
· Promotes the Patient Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.
Secondary Functions:
· Supplies medications for area paramedic boxes.
· Participates in departmental and hospitalwide informational meetings and inservices, including staff meetings, hospitalwide forums, and seminars.
· Reviews department and hospitalwide policies and procedures annually.
· All other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Skills & Mental Activities:
This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic techniques and compounding, and operational knowledge of general equipment and office equipment in the Pharmacy department, including: fax, printer, phone systems, computer, and commonly used hospital computer programs (including Hospital Information Systems, MS Office, e-mail, and internet). Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must also be service oriented and have excellent computer skills, math skills, communication skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, professional interpersonal skills, time management skills, the ability to prioritize work, and telephone etiquette.
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent (required).
· AZ State Board of Pharmacy Technician License (required).
· CPhT licensure (required).
· Basic computer skills (required).
Physical Demands & Job Conditions:
Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Worker is subject to extensive computer work and contact with chemicals.
Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, talking, reaching, feeling, sitting, bending, kneeling, grasping, listening/hearing, handling, lifting up to 20 pounds, and repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.
This is a safety sensitive position.
