What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician position at Summit Plastic Molding II?
Sets up and adjusts automatic injection molding machine following cycle sheets, blueprints and utilizing knowledge of machine functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reads specifications to determine machine set up and prescribed temperature and time settings.
- Positions, aligns, and secures assembled mold or mold components and machine accessories onto machine.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using hoist, power tools and hand tools, sets up molds onto machine press bed according to guide marks.
- Attaches connecting lines, such as, air, oil, or water to mold and adjust controls to regulate mold temperature.
- Sets machine controls and starts machine to provide sample product.
- Visually inspects product for surface defects.
- Supports shift supervisor to provide maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system.
- Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIESMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Responsible for the appropriate set up and removal of molds.
- Supports shift supervisor to provide preventive maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Appropriately identifying molds as ok to run, needs preventive maintenance or needs repair.
- One year of experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must have own tools.
- Appropriate knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment associated with mold settings.
- Mechanical ability as well as physical strength and agility.
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other employees.
- 4 years of experience
