Job Description
JOB TITLE: Specialist, Corporate Finance (Accounting)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Manager, Corporate Finance (Accounting)
Summary
Summit Polymers is a global Tier 1 automotive part manufactured with operations. Summit Finance provides accounting, treasury, tax, and reporting services to support these operations. Summit develops financial leaders through a rotation program designed to expose new employees to a variety of financial activities and develop broad cross-functional expertise.
Financial specialists may be assigned to a variety of tasks including accounting, tax, treasury and reporting activities. Specialists are responsible for compiling, analyzing and presenting the results of various financial analyses to senior management. The role also includes day-to-day responsibilities for collecting, processing and accurately reporting financial data.
Financial specialists may also be asked to coordinate with third party accountants, lawyers, bankers and other providers.
Responsibilities And Duties
Financial Specialists will be assigned a core set of activities which may include any of the following. In addition, assignments will be added to these core responsibilities by management on a discretionary basis:
A minimum of two years of college or specialized training is preferred. Minimum of five years experience in general accounting for a medium-to-large sized corporation is required, including GL reconciliation.
Skills And Abilities
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
This position typically does not require any travel.

Responsibilities And Duties
Financial Specialists will be assigned a core set of activities which may include any of the following. In addition, assignments will be added to these core responsibilities by management on a discretionary basis:
- Accounting
- Assists in the creation of yearly tooling revenue projections
- Reconciles tooling revenue accounts and deferred revenue account on monthly basis
- Update and maintain accounting database
- Creates journal entries to recognize deferred revenue when needed
- Post invoices to the general ledger
- Accounts Receivable
- Invoice all tooling/engineering related purchase orders
- Check payment status of outstanding invoices
- Conduct cost auditing for large purchase orders
- Research and assist in collection of overdue tooling invoices
- Facilitates all other invoicing related to engineering functions
- Assist in training engineering assistants on invoicing procedures
- Reporting
- Assists in the creation of monthly engineering income statement
- Creates monthly labor hours report
- Creates monthly sales reports
- Creates and maintains monthly outstanding receivables report
- Audit
- Provide any requested documentation and answer all inquiries related to yearly audit
A minimum of two years of college or specialized training is preferred. Minimum of five years experience in general accounting for a medium-to-large sized corporation is required, including GL reconciliation.

Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 26 on the Cognitive portion).
