.4 FTE Speech Language Pathologist SY 25-26

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides a full range of services to students with identified speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The SLP works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other specialists to ensure that students with communication disorders receive appropriate interventions and services. The SLP will also be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment & Evaluation:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students referred for speech and language concerns.
  • Administer and interpret standardized tests and other assessments to identify speech and language disorders.
  • Develop evaluation reports that summarize findings, diagnosis, and recommendations.

• Intervention & Therapy:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, targeting identified areas of need.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom.

• Consultation & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other specialists to support student communication needs in the educational environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on student progress and recommending modifications to interventions as needed.
  • Educate school staff and parents on speech and language development and disorders, as well as strategies to support communication in the classroom and at home.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, treatment plans, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education services and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by the district or state regulations.

• Professional Development:

  • Stay current with best practices, research, and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on topics related to speech and language disorders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and move around the school campus as needed.
• Ability to lift up to [weight] pounds.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents.

Work Environment:

• The role primarily takes place in a school setting, which may include classrooms, therapy rooms, and other educational environments.
• The SLP may need to travel between schools within the district.

Salary:

• Competitive salary based on education and experience. Stipend provided yearly for National Certification prorated for FTE.

Salary : $59,104 - $85,913
