What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Welding Inspector position at Summit Skilled Solutions?
We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in all welding projects. Must have a CWI. Day shift 7am-3:30pm. Qualified applicants will be contacted for a phone interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Review and verify welding procedures, certifications, and qualifications.
- Prepare detailed inspection and testing reports.
- Monitor welding operations and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to address welding issues.
- Conduct non-destructive testing methods as required.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- 3 years of experience in welding inspection or related fields.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Additional NDT certifications are a plus.
