Summit Skilled Solutions is hiring an experienced Substation Breaker Technician for a Direct Hire position starting day one directly with the contractor. In this position you will be responsible for performing a variety of tests and inspections on substation equipment to ensure its safe and reliable operation. You will work under the supervision of the Substation Test Supervisor and play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the electrical grid. This position requires a deep understanding of substation equipment, testing procedures, and safety protocols.
Substation Breaker Technician Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory and principles.
- Experience with substation equipment and components.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety procedures.
Substation Breaker Technician Job Scope
- Conduct special tests as required, such as dielectric tests, load flow tests, and relay testing.
- Inspect substation equipment for damage or wear and tear.
- Collect and analyze test data.
- Prepare test reports and documentation.
- Assist with substation construction and maintenance projects.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations.
Substation Breaker Technician Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with substation equipment.
- Experience with substation testing equipment and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or vocational training in electrical maintenance or a related field.
- Days and hours of work vary. Must be able and willing to work Monday to Sunday (with some overnight work).
Substation Breaker Technician Compensation/Benefits
- $35-$48/hr based on experience
- 40-60 hour work week M-F
