Overview of Role :
The Chief of Staff will be responsible for tracking key business initiatives and coordinating administrative responsibilities for the Chief Operations Officer / Chief Financial Officer (COO / CFO) at Summit Therapeutics. This high-visibility role will act as a strategic partner to the COO / CFO and will require the ability to be flexible, agile, highly organized, and proactive. This role will ensure functions across the organization are working cohesively to meet project and program deadlines. The Chief of Staff of Staff will possess strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, exceptional work ethic, and excellent financial and analytical skills, as well as be a dynamic communicator. This position requires a strong operational focus with an in depth understanding of business operations and a keen eye for process improvement & accountability.
Role and Responsibilities :
- Act as a thought partner and trusted advisor to the COO / CFO on business, organizational, and operational strategies and solutions
- Proactively anticipate the needs of the COO / CFO to streamline operations and enhance productivity
- Coordinate, drive, and monitor a broad range of cross-functional operational activities and strategic projects, ensuring projects stay on track and support broader corporate goals and initiatives
- Engage and partner with key stakeholders, driving cross-functional effectiveness and ensuring appropriate prioritization of projects to support the business in meeting short- and long-term objectives & deliverables
- Attend functional meetings share and professionally communicate goals, objectives, challenges and concerns on behalf of the COO / CFO
- Prepare and review correspondence, presentations, and reports with a focus on professionalism and accuracy
- Provide administrative support to executive leadership meetings, board meetings, senior leadership meetings, and executive leadership offsites, including structuring, facilitating, and helping to deliver company-wide communications
- Prepare, prioritize, and manage annual meeting calendars, meeting agendas, presentation materials, meeting minutes and follow-up action items
- All other duties as assigned
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills :
The pay range for this role is $185,000-$240,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and / or other applicable variable compensation. The successful candidate will also be eligible for health benefits, 401(k) with 6% employer match from day one, ESPP with up to a 15% discount up to the federal limit, flexible spending account among other benefits compensation
