The firm was founded in July of 2015 by six partners from Barclays Wealth Americas. Today the firm employs approximately 100 employees. Summit Trail provides advisory services related to investments, financial planning, benefits, and insurance as well as overall family office services to ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, and small institutions. Firm headquarters are in New York, NY. Summit Trail is seeking to hire a Senior Associate to work on Fund Operations Administration on its Operations Team. This position will be based in the NYC.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Monitor and ensure seamless running of Summit Trail’s day-to day operations, including:
- Assist in the monthly limited partnership/private fund investment and divestment process
- Prepare various management and compliance reports, specifically as it pertains to private fund filing requirements
- Capital call, distribution, subscription, and redemption processing
- Document and implement internal controls to be reviewed during regulatory reviews and audits
- Ensure policies, processes, and procedures are adequate and properly documented
- Work closely with fund administrator to ensure reporting packages are prepared accurately and timely
- Ensure timely collection information from investment funds such as K-1s and performance reporting
- Work closely with investment team and understand the lifecycle of private equity funds and hedge funds
- Regularly work to evaluate the efficiencies of operational processes, re-engineer, and apply improvements as necessary with team management
- Work to ensure Advisors and Client Sales Associates are adequately trained on key systems (ex: SalesForce) along with processes of Summit Trail as it pertains to private fund offerings (examples include: deadlines for subscriptions, fund closing timeframes, capital calls, distributions, K-1s, etc.)
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
Experience in RIA Wealth Management Operations, Private Equity or Hedge fund administration or equivalent position strongly preferred
Excellent organizational, communication and project management skills
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Strong knowledge in using both Addepar and Salesforce desired
- Self-driven and motivated individuals who can take ownership and are detail oriented.
- Demonstrates high proficiency in Excel (lookup, pivot tables) and other Microsoft Office applications
Compensation Package
Base Salary: Summit Trail offers a competitive base salary and overall compensation package for employees.
Incentive Compensation: Role will participate in the firm’s bonus incentive plan. The bonus plan is tied directly to the firm’s net earnings each year at a fixed percentage that will grow with the firm’s growth.
Profit Sharing: STA has created a profit-sharing plan that is an additional benefit for employees above our base salary, bonus plan, and 401k match.
Benefits: Summit Trail provides an excellent benefits package through ADP TotalSource. This includes medical through Blue Cross Blue Shield, dental through Guardian, and Vision plans. Summit Trail pays 100% of the premiums for the Health and Dental Plans. The firm has a 401k plan with Fidelity and a discretionary firm match to employee contributions.
Hybrid Work: The role is based in New York City, but STA is currently in a hybrid work environment. STA team members have been spending 2-3 days a week in STA offices and our offices are open 5 days a week for employees that choose to come in. Company reserves the right to require personnel to return to the office full time.
