We have an exciting opportunity for two (2) Data Collection Drivers in Fort Smith, AR.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for operating advanced mobile leak detection equipment to collect methane emissions data in designated areas. The collected data is utilized by field technicians and the company’s Distribution Integrity Management group. The role requires collaboration with the Supervisor of Data Collection, the Manager of Advanced Leak Detection, and analysts to address any issues identified in the field.
***This position requires operating a data collection vehicle at night. Typical work hours are from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. The schedule is subject to change.***
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate advanced mobile leak detection equipment, primarily during nighttime hours, to measure methane emissions.
- Accurately input external data collection parameters to ensure the equipment utilizes the correct algorithms for calculations.
- Verify proper equipment functionality and document data collection drives to maintain system safety and reliability.
- Plan daily routes using maps and existing drive data to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of data collection technology.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection technologies and methodologies.
- Monitor and report any irregularities related to driving routes, data collection equipment, or vehicle performance to ensure supervisors are informed of potential issues.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional manner that meets expectations.
- Observe, document, and report gas leaks, equipment malfunctions, and other hazardous conditions to ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and cross-training initiatives to enhance job knowledge and skill development.
- Identify and communicate any equipment issues that require attention.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required.
- 0–2 years of experience in utility maintenance operations or a related field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

- Demonstrate thorough working knowledge of the policies, practices, procedures, and business processes supporting system leakage surveys.
- Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of leak survey cycles, segments, and routes.
- Use mainframe software programs such as FSM (Field Service Management)
- Demonstrate ability to operate a personal computer, including working knowledge of word processing software.
- Understand and evaluate software, hardware, and other technology.
- Able to demonstrate the safe and proper use of a variety of tools.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers on the routes in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Able to demonstrate respect for all individuals, adhere to the Company’s values and business practices and do both consistently.
- Demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures and do so consistently, take all required training courses and do so timely.
