SENIOR PRODUCER/ PRODUCTION MANAGER ROLE
Summit Series is seeking a resourceful Senior Producer to manage pre-production details related to the execution of our flagship event series. The Senior Producer leans into and contributes to all aspects of Summit Series live event production including, but not limited to, the responsibilities outlined below.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- You are a strong strategic thinker and an outstanding communicator, proficient at both leading a team and working independently to produce quality results, capable of building relationships and trust across all levels and teams at Summit Series.
- Experience being the lead manager of a complicated, multi-stage event / conference with multiple teams and activities happening over a series of days.
- Able to work both independently and within a team environment to manage the overall production teams, direction of concepts and execution, budgets, and direct successful executions.
- This person will focus on live event experiential activations but should bring experience with content production as well.
- Coordinate with creative, content and programming, and sponsorship / partnership teams as well as liaise with relevant venues, all vendors, and client contacts.
- The work will also include experiential sponsor activations, spaces, sponsored speakers, high-end parties for clients, events created for content capture and more.
- Work with content, programming, and marketing teams on activations and event needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external Summit Series resources, people, and teams, vendors, venues, etc.
- Manage RFP process with vendors when applicable.
- Creation, execution, management of budgets for events (vendors, permits, labor, fabrication, etc.).
- Oversee the design, logistics, fabrication, installation/tear down in multiple environments.
- Advance all production and operational elements such as power, heavy equipment, site ops, labor for events.
- Procure all supplies, staffing, custom decor items, trucking, lighting, and audio as per budget constraints.
- Manage all on-site staff including brand ambassadors, security, FOH staff, stagehands, etc.
- Manage all culinary and F&B teams.
- Deliver or source training as needed and ensure on-site supervision.
- Develop and maintain internal departmental relationships.
SKILLS
- 7 years’ experience in production, budgeting, and concepting for custom festival or large-scale live events.
- Coming from a background in luxury/high-end events is a plus.
- You embody the ethos and culture of the Summit community and are a collaborative and kind human being.
- You have exceptional oral communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
- You have a roll up your sleeve – no job too small – attitude.
- You are a self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Business acumen needed for interacting with event guests, accompanied by the sensibilities of working with production teams (from clients to vendors, artist managers, venue staff, etc.).
- Highly effective at managing multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to manage a team and work independently with necessary status updates.
- Ability to quickly navigate other programs such as Keynote, Slack, Airtable, Google, Office Suite and more.
- Knowledge of music and entertainment A/V, lighting needs.
- Eye for details with impeccable project oversight, ability to see the big picture as much as the importance of the attention to detail.
- Must be available to work occasional weekends and evenings.
- Based in Detroit.
ROLE COMPENSATION
This is a contracted position.
Rate based and commensurate to experience level.
