Job Description
SummitMedia seeks an organized, detail-oriented, strategic, and outgoing professional to support and lead our promotions and events teams nationally. The focus of this position is team leadership, attention to organization and detail, and system and process
development. The role requires oversight of a remote team responsible for station promotions, contests, and events. Additionally, this position will manage events, lead the event teams, and assist on-site with major station events.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of promotions, contesting, and events at SummitMedia.
Lead promotions and support teams nationally.
Identify and develop organizational systems, processes, and workflows.
Support various programming, marketing, and sales initiatives by managing projects.
Oversee prizing and winner fulfillment process.
Develop relationships with promotional partners, venues, vendors, and internal teams.
Negotiate and execute contracts with partners, venues, artists, vendors, and service providers.
Coordinate with internal departments and third-party partners on contests, promotions, and event details.
Partner with internal teams on social media copy, graphic design, and digital advertising.
Knowledge of promotion software including but not limited to OMice 365 - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, TextGroove (mobile contesting), Audience (web contesting and user-generated content engine), and vPromotion (promotion and asset management software).
Maintain knowledge of current FCC (and other appropriate governmental agencies) regulations, ensuring compliance.
Conduct appropriate market research, network, and maintain an up-to-date industry knowledge base.
Collaborate with sales and programming leadership on promotions, marketing, and event ideation.
Define, forecast, manage, and reconcile event P&L for events as needed.
Write and post online for station contests and work with Regional Promotion Directors on station promotions.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and attend events as required.
Attend client meetings and station events.
Birmingham, AL based
Up to 20% travel.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in media, event management, or entertainment.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and proof of insurance are required if the applicant owns a vehicle.
