JOB TITLE: Welder
LOCATION: Houston, TX
POSITION REPORTS TO: Tank Operations Manager
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
SCHEDULE: To be determined. Weekends and overtime may be required
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Use proper safety equipment and follow the company's safety practices
* Weld parts in various directions; flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead, etc.
* Ignite flame or strike an arc while welding or performing other electricity-related work to weld part of a metal structure
* Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications
* Inform supervisor of any fault equipment or material
* Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, or grind spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product
* Operate equipment and perform tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs
* Control the processes of fitting, burning, and welding
* Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding job, such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, or other welding equipment
* Arrange the welded parts in the proper order before assembling into final pieces
* Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts (use tools such as square, caliper or ruler for this task)
* Pre-determine required equipment and welding method and apply knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding
* Maintain a clean shop and work area
* Maintain accurate welding and material records
* Other related tasks assigned by manager
REQUIREMENTS
* Locals only (must live within 60 miles)
* Must have 3yrs of welding experience
* Professional appearance and demeanor
* Valid driver's license and a good driving record
* Must be able to pass background screening including MVR and criminal
* Specialized training in welding and/or prior welding experience
* Must be able to complete good quality welding
* Must be able to read instructions and measuring devices
* Must have a good safety record
* Good basic skills in Microsoft Outlook
* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Welding certification
