Job Description: Reporting to the Creative Director, Brand and Marketing Services COE, the Manager, Design & Creative will play a key role in leading our Canadian creative studio team. The Manager, Design & Creative will support and inspire a team of creative designers and writers as they produce transformational D2C creative assets, ensuring brand integrity and creative excellence on all deliverables from an aesthetic, tone, and personality perspective. Our preferred candidate will be familiar with all aspects of creative strategies and process, have proficiency with long-standing and newly emerging creative industry tools and possess the ability to interpret client needs and emotional drivers creatively, work within brand guidelines and deliver creative excellence, team wide. What will you do? Creative Management Act as a Creative Studio team point of contact for its members and the organization. Triage incoming work and ensure the right information is available to complete the task. Provide strategic input to marketing / product stakeholders and leaders on creative approach, supporting our partners in reaching desired outcomes. Provide workback schedules and budget breakdown for each project, as needed. Assist in brand reviews and approval of creative assets. Work with cross-functional teams, educating and familiarizing them with creative best practices regarding collaboration, conceptual ideation, production and timelines. Assist in the onboarding and/or briefing process of external vendors when outsourcing is required. Creative Leadership Lead a team of creative experts daily, including HR/Admin tasks and responsibilities. Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages creativity, ideation, innovation, initiative, collaboration and forward-thinking among team members. Delegation, prioritization and briefing of studio project work. Lead by example on all aspects of creative, including concepts, production, time management and industry best practices. Continuous knowledge building and sharing. Contribute to the proper resource management for the team and the Creative studio as a whole. (FTEs and budget) Creative Production (as needed) Graphic design or copywriting mandates - depending on capacity. Attending and aiding video/photo shoots. Collaborate on the development of creative concepts for marketing initiatives. Work collaboratively with Creative Team members to deliver digital and web entities, social media assets, high-quality digital and print-ready deliverables for handoff. The Successful Candidate 7 years of proven and relevant design industry experience Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite staples (PSD, AI, XD, INDD) and FIGMA An emotionally intelligent leader who has been there and done that Enthusiastic learner of new digital and creative trends Organized, with time management skills Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
