The Associate Director – Private Fixed Income Valuation’s position is both a supervisory and hands-on financial analysis role related to the valuation of a multibillion-dollar block of Private Fixed Income assets and complex securities portfolio. The role oversees various stages of the valuation process on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis with the primary purpose of ensuring the robustness of the valuation process, validation of the prices, and development of analytical models to satisfy governance and control requirements associated with the firm’s internal and external valuation processes. What you will do: Oversight of Team Responsibilities: Monitor the workflow of a diverse team of qualified professionals within the framework of the firm’s culture providing support where necessary in the scope of all team responsibilities related to the production of asset valuation Engage in effective conflict-management techniques to solve problems as they arise, fostering a healthy environment of communication and contributing to solutions Create and enhance existing technology framework to meet evolving needs which includes consistently assessing viability of current systems, understanding external third-party vendor landscape and thinking creatively about ways to improve current processes and eliminate inefficiencies Individual Responsibilities: Research and maintain independent models used to oversee the valuation of private fixed income and derivative assets which may include warrants, convertible debt, distressed/impaired securities and private equity deals Develop and run models to aide in the production and validation of valuation provided by external vendors which includes the analysis of sovereign risk-free yield curve and public and private credit spread movements as well as reference asset pool dataset management and review Actively interact with front, middle and back office personnel to ensure the accuracy of valuation inputs and results and efficient completion of all ad-hoc requests Perform research related to existing and new private fixed income and derivative assets for the purpose of understanding the appropriate valuation methodologies to apply to each asset using in-house financial tools and systems including ICE BondEdge, FTSE Bond Analytics, BlackRock Aladdin, FinCAD, IHS Markit and Bloomberg Perform database management and development oversight of VBA Macros/MatLab models for private fixed Income assets and complex securities valuation Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing workflow to support controls related to internal and external audits of the valuation production process What you will need to succeed: 2 years of experience in fixed income asset valuation including knowledge of public/private fixed income assets, public fixed income benchmark vendor landscapes and investment portfolio analysis Knowledge of relational database design and experience with VBA, Bloomberg, SQL, and BlackRock Aladdin (MatLab, Python and/or R preferred) Experience with and understanding of derivatives and private mortgage instruments preferred Ability to problem-solve in a timely and efficient manner Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills Effectively manage and coordinate multiple projects and tasks under strict deadlines Team player with collaborative attitude and a high-level of accountability for his/her work Must be self-motivated and a self-starter Positive attitude, professional presence, ability to interact with senior levels inside and outside of the firm Ability to think outside of the box and apply quantitative and qualitative information and knowledge to complex situations in order to resolve them Ability to work with a diverse range of people What is in it for you?
