What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horse Wrangler position at Sun Mountain Lodge?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Ranch Hand to join our team at our lodge. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful natural setting while contributing to the smooth operation and maintenance of our ranch. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for outdoor work, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ranch management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily operations of the ranch, including feeding, watering, and caring for the horses.
- Maintain and repair fences, buildings, and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Perform general ranch maintenance tasks, such as mending structures, clearing trails, and landscaping.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth execution of daily tasks and special projects.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in all areas.
- Provide support during special events and activities hosted at a the lodge, such as horseback riding, guided tours, and outdoors excursions.
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a secure environment for both staff and guests.
Requirements:
- High school diploma: additional certifications in agriculture, animal husbandry, or related fields are preferred.
- Previous experience in ranch work, including handling livestock, operate machinery, and performance general maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of animal care and welfare practices, with a keen eye for identifying signs of distress or illness.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform various manual tasks and work outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other staff members.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Reliable transportation nice to have.
- Drivers License Recommended.
