Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and assisting our Line Cooks in creating high-quality dishes. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and marinating proteins.
- Assist in the preparation of appetizers, salads, and side dishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Stock and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Assist line cooks with basic cooking tasks as needed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all resort policies and kitchen protocols.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or F B Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
