What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snowmaking Electrician position at Sun Valley Company?
A Snowmaking Electrician will learn to install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic equipment and components of industrial machinery and systems by performing installation, maintenance, and repair as described below under the supervision of a Snowmaking Supervisor and Mountain Electrical Supervisor. This position is also expected to be part of the snowmaking process. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts : 8 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm, 4 : 00 pm - 12 : 00 am or 12 : 00 am - 8 : 00 am. Shift hours may vary.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Install power and control wiring and conduit for newly installed machinery and equipment
- Operate, maintain, clean and relocate snowmaking and adjunct equipment as directed safely, consistent with Sun Valley Company procedures
- Connect power and control wiring to machines and equipment
- Connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures. Replace damaged or broken wiring and cables. Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with snowmakers and mountain electricians to diagnose malfunctions
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position-sensing devices
- Plan wiring layout and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
- Work under adverse weather conditions to complete tasks, especially when electrical equipment is out of service due to failure
- Participate in proper safety classes, including Fall Arrest, Lock-out tag-out procedures and other related safety topics
- Perform preventative electrical maintenance, snowmaking machine room maintenance, and pneumatic control maintenance
