What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snowmaking Foreman position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Sun Valley Snowmaking Foreman will supervise the Snowmaking team's daily, monthly, and annual operations. They will assign, monitor, perform, and oversee most snowmaking maintenance and repair projects on Bald and Dollar Mountain Snowmaking systems. The Foreman will report to the Snowmaking Manager and Electrical Foreman to ensure all maintenance and projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control inventory
- Monitor cleanliness, efficiency, and organization of all maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance on the snowmaking system
- Troubleshoot operational issues during winter and summer operations
- Work closely with all Mountain Departments
- Be a positive influence at all times
- Maintain a culture of safety at all times
- Assist the Department Manager in hiring, training, supervising personnel, employee reviews, budgeting, planning maintenance, and a variety of other tasks
- Attend Mountain Department meetings and occasionally act as an intermediary for the Department Manager
Qualifications:
- A current U.S. Driver's License is required
- Previous automated snowmaking experience
- Proven leadership success and experience
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools and safe use
- Ability to adapt and maintain a high level of focus
- Work in adverse weather conditions
- Proven experience managing and leading teams with up to 25 employees
- Basic understanding of computer-based operations, functions and programs, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and other MS Office applications
