What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospitality Manager in Training position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Manager in Training program is an internship program that allows you to learn on a rotational basis multiple areas within the hospitality division at Sun Valley Resort, including Hotel Front Office, Food and Beverage, and Housekeeping departments. This position is an entry-level leadership role, which provides a hands-on opportunity. During your time in the program, we intend to allow each Manager in Training to gain exposure in multiple departments while developing their leadership style and the future stewardship of these departments. The program lasts at least 18 months and includes three rotations of approximately six months each.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality standards set by the department manager
- Ensure proper communication between shifts and departments
- Train staff along with onboarding new team members
- Serve as an example for team members
- Recommend service enhancements as needed
- Attend and actively participate in department meetings
- Assist in filling in for department managers
- Coordinate with team members in efforts to ensure high levels of customer service
- Monitor the performance of staff and coach or counsel as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience within hospitality or similar industry
