What are the responsibilities and job description for the Terrain Park Attendant position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Terrain Park Attendants' job is to ensure parks are open, safe, and always have a contest-ready appearance. The employee will work closely with fellow Attendants, Grooming staff, Ski Patrol, and Mountain Management to achieve these goals. Daily duties will include filling out park logs, feature testing, setting up and taking down fences, signs, ropes, and being available for a variety of other jobs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as a host in the Terrain Parks for crowd control, guest education, safety awareness and guest relations
- Understand and communicate the user responsibility code
- Educate guests on terrain park safety
- Install and maintain the terrain park signage, closures, trail markings, fencing and banners/flags
- Rake, shovel and generally maintain terrain park features
- Assist in terrain park special events
- Daily trash and debris pick up and removal
- Visually monitor terrain park features throughout the day
Qualifications:
- Be a strong skier or snowboarder who can complete feature testing protocols from small up to medium features, bonus points for large features.
- Be able to thrive in the team environment with punctuality and attendance key
- Have a passion for skiing and riding
- Can work in the outdoors and various weather elements
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
