What You’ll Do:
- Legal Document Drafting & Review: Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and review of contracts, agreements, policies, and other essential legal documents to support the company's operations.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices to provide valuable insights that guide the legal team's decisions.
- Corporate Records Management: Maintain and organize corporate records, including minute books, resolutions, and other vital legal documentation to ensure legal compliance.
- Intellectual Property Protection: Help manage and protect the company’s intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents, safeguarding our brand’s value.
- External Counsel Coordination: Work alongside external counsel to address the company’s legal needs, ensuring efficient and effective communication.
- Task Tracking & Deadline Management: Maintain a system to track ongoing legal matters, ensuring all deadlines are met and tasks are prioritized.
- Compliance Support: Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards while assisting with compliance matters and promoting a legally sound environment.
- General Legal Support: Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and preparing correspondence.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with various departments to gather the necessary information and documentation for legal matters.
- Stay Updated: Keep the legal team informed on relevant legal developments and industry trends to support the company’s strategic goals.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in the electric bicycle, retail, or related industries.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or an associate degree in Paralegal Studies from an accredited program.
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate, contract, and intellectual property law, with a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in practical settings.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Research & Writing Skills: Excellent research abilities, strong writing skills, and the ability to present complex legal information clearly and concisely.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel) and familiarity with legal research platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis. Experience with legal document management software is a plus.
- Confidentiality & Judgment: The ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
