Sunbeam Station Child Care Center is looking to hire an experienced director to manage daily operations. Sunbeam is a ministry of St. Paul UMC in Manchester. Full-time salary position working Monday- Friday. Experience and knowledge of DHS childcare regulations and the Keystone STARS program are necessary. The Director provides leadership and support to the teachers, children, and families, continuing program growth and quality in the Keystone STARS program. In addition, the Director will work with the Board of Directors on policies, procedures, budget, tuition, enrollment, etc.
Responsibilities include:
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations
- Staffing (hiring, scheduling, and maintaining staff professionalism)
- Maintain enrollments
- Maintain positive relations with families and staff
- Compliance with policies and procedures of DHS
- Compliance with the Keystone STARS program
- Partnership with the Sunbeam Board of Directors
- Oversight of HiMama (daily reporting, messaging, lesson planning portal)
- Creation & following of yearly budget
- Attending board meetings
- Partnership with Assistant Director
PA 3270.34 Director Qualifications & Responsibilities:
A Director shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:
1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and 1 year experience with children.
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
3. An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
4. An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 4 years of experience with children.
c. A director shall be employed by a facility and be present at the facility site a minimum of 30 hours a week.
d. In a facility in which 45 or fewer children are enrolled a director may also function as a group supervisor. An individual who functions in a dual capacity shall meet the responsibilities and qualifications of a director set forth in subsections (a) and (b).

Preference given to applicants with Director experience and/ or PA Director’s Credential
