What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Clerk position at Sunbelt Paper & Packaging?
We are looking for an AR Clerk to provide administrative and clerical services. Accounting duties include recording, posting, verifying, ensuring accuracy of customer payments/invoices.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data
- Prepare bank deposits
- Research discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending monthly statements and reminders
- Monitor AR aging report and contact customers as needed
- Detail and File State Sales Tax
- Answering customer calls and occasionally helping with customer service tasks
Requirements
- Proven working experience in accounting
- Understanding of fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage customer payments and payment history
- Data entry skills
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets
- Proficiency in MS Office/ Excel
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- High School Degree
Experience:
- Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
