What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Internship position at SUNBELT SOLOMON SERVICES, LLC?
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) role is a full-time (30-40 per week) paid summer internship position that is available at our Temple, TX facility from June 2 – August 8. This position will report directly to the Safety Manager and Supervisor. An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internship involves supporting the EHS team in implementing and maintaining EHS programs, conducting safety inspections, and assisting with training and reporting. Interns may also evaluate work processes, create PPE matrices, and contribute to internal audits and safety improvements.
- Understand the SPCC/SWPPP plan for the facility and be able to complete monthly inspections.
- Complete job investigations from injuries on the shop floor.
- Understand how to complete job hazard analysis to determine hazards of certain tasks.
- Learn how to implement behavior-based safety with employees. Complete behavior-based safety training.
- Complete forklift and hoist training to support safety in understanding leading indicators to address within the shop.
- Applicants would be able to complete safety observations and JSA with ability to document and establish corrective actions.
- Applicants would be able to understand how environmental programs that are written pertain the company and directly the facility.
- Applicants would learn how to report OSHA recordables and the documentation that pertains to incident/illness.
