A dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher is needed for an elementary Special Day Class (SDC) position in Gilroy, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. This is a full-semester contract position, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Key Responsibilities : - Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address students' academic, behavioral, and social needs in a Special Day Class.- Provide direct instruction in both academic and life skills to students with moderate to severe disabilities.- Support students in developing social, communication, and independence skills.- Collaborate with staff and families to ensure students' educational goals are met.- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.- Provide behavioral support and implement strategies per IEPs.
Requirements : - Active California Special Education Teaching License in the state of CA.
