What are the responsibilities and job description for the Capital Analyst position at SunCap Property Group?
The analyst will gain hands-on experience across a broad set of transactions and property types, including development and asset management of industrial properties. As an integral member of the capital team, the analyst will assist with underwriting, modeling, due diligence, financing, asset management, and dispositions. The goal is to provide the capital team with a trusted, dependable team member who can contribute immediately.
This role is in-person, full-time (5 days per week) and will require occasional travel to satellite offices and project sites.
Responsibilities
- Build and adapt financial models to analyze investment opportunities using Excel
- Conduct market research and prepare Investment Committee presentations
- Review financial statements and available company information to determine credit worthiness of potential tenants
- Support the capital team by understanding of the investment pipeline, market conditions and pricing, risk/reward, deal positioning
- Provide financial evaluation, modeling, structuring, and analysis for new acquisition opportunities, development projects, and income-producing assets
- Create complex proformas, waterfalls, and sensitivity analyses to assist the acquisitions, development, and asset management teams
- Perform financial analyses and provide support for asset performance tracking and quarterly reporting for lenders and equity partners
- Assist with the coordination of due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
- Work with the acquisitions, development, and asset management teams to continuously improve methods and models for underwriting real estate opportunities and related capitalization structures
- Assist in evaluating business plans for existing and future investments including hold-sell analyses, financing sensitivities, discounted cash flows and other ad hoc analyses to guide investment decisions
- Maintain and update key performance indicator data for internal reporting
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related work experience in real estate, finance, or investment banking (other backgrounds will be considered)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to navigate the qualitative and quantitative aspects of a potential investment and translate/present it to key stakeholders in a timely and effective manner
- Strong communication skills – highly adept at building relationships and keeping all key stakeholders informed throughout the process
- Entrepreneurial, flexible and strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability as the situation warrants
