Kennel Technician

Sunchaser Farm & Kennel in Union Bridge, MD is looking for a kennel technician to join our team. We are located on 13416 Liberty Rd. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and reliable.

Responsibilities

*Feed, walk, exercise and bathe animals as needed in our care. *Schedule boarding/grooming appointments. *Administer medications as indicated by owners and veterinarian. *Bring animals to and from their kennel runs during check-in and check-out times. *Clean up after animals both inside runs and outside in exercise yard. *Maintain the kennel as a whole by performing tasks including but not limited to: Sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, and checking equipment and supplies. *Assist other staff members on occasion with such tasks as restraining an animal, helping clients with their pets, etc. *Be available on weekends and holidays to tend to boarding animals. *Greet office visitors and personal in a friendly and sincere manner

Basic qualifications

*Previous experience in animal care or other related fields *Passion to help and treat animals *Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner *Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment *Basic computer skills to check emails and operate kennel management software *Available to begin training immediately

Advanced qualifications (These are not necessary but will be a favorable mark for applicants)

*Training or Experience as a Veterinarian Technician *Dog Grooming or Dog Training Certification *Experience as an office manager or in a customer relations position *Proficiency in using Productivity software on a computer for use in creating documents, newsletters, flyers or other promotional material with creative and unique designs.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $15.00 - $16.00/hour.

About SUNCHASER FARM & KENNEL: Sunchaser Kennel opened 1987 with a commitment to provide the absolute best care available for dogs and cats in a boarding environment. The kennel is situated on 28 picturesque acres, high on a ridge just outside Libertytown, MD, on Route 26. The kennel has 65 indoor/outdoor runs divided into three wings, small, medium and large. The kennel always has a cool, light breeze with lots of windows to provide additional ventilation and sunshine. The buildings are heated and air conditioned.
