The Operating System Super User collaborates closely with the Director of Operations, Warehouse Operations Team, and System Service Technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the company's operating system. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of the material handling system, including its various subsystems, and the ability to manage and optimize system functionality. The ideal candidate will excel in troubleshooting, analyzing system faults, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime while maximizing throughput.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the successful startup and operation of the entire system, including its subsystems.
- Download and manage Warehouse Management System (WMS) product and order information into the Warehouse Execution System (WES).
- Monitor, interpret, and resolve system faults effectively to minimize system downtime.
- Conduct system audits to maintain operational efficiency.
- Understand daily order flow routines and adjust operations to achieve maximum throughput.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment, including pallet build sequences, robotic palletizing cells, replenishment systems, and automatic stretch wrappers.
- Read, interpret, and act upon system manuals and diagnostic materials.
- Attending on-site and off-site training provided by subsystem vendors to develop in-depth system expertise.
- Train new operators in system functionality and operational best practices.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to address and resolve system issues.
- Complete daily reporting on system health and operational performance (Actuals vs. Plan).
- Maintain accurate documentation of system activities, diagnostics, and resolutions.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends (minimum of one weekend day required).
- Physical ability to perform all job-related tasks.
- Willingness to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, excluding break time.
- Completion of all mandatory training, including OSHA and safety training.
- Familiarity with company policies and adherence to operational standards.
JOB QUALIFCATIONS:
- Education: Associate’s degree in industrial technology, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience:1 years of experience in systems maintenance, mechanical and/or electrical systems. Basic experience with controls, troubleshooting, and repair preferred. Alternatively, 3-5 years of related experience without a degree.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to the role. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
