POSITION TITLE : FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR - DENTAL
FSLA : NON-EXEMPT
Under the direct supervision of the Dental Practice Manager and indirect supervision of the Staff Dentist, incumbent is responsible for greeting, registering, counseling and collecting all necessary information for new and established patients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
1. High School Graduate or GED; AA degree in Business or related field preferred.
2. Strong customer service experience and qualifications required.
3. Money and credit card transactions experience required.
4. Experience in dental front office strongly preferred.
5. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures, experience in dental insurance billing, computer data entry and retrieval is preferred.
6. Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
7. Ability to add, multiply, subtract, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
8. Computer literate with the ability to type 30 to 40 WPM.
9. Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES :
1. Maintain the front desk / reception area in a clutter-free, organized manner to greet and receive patients.
2. Verify insurance eligibility
3. Follow processes of document scanning and document managing for filing of claims, processing referrals, and handling pre-authorizations.
4. Assist in the financial counseling of all patients explaining various dental insurances and sliding fees.
5. Manage providers schedules for scheduling of all patients and walk-in patients including following up on missed / no show appointments being rescheduled.
6. Participate in continuing education and quality assurance by attending in-service seminars and staff meetings.
7. Other duties as assigned.
