POSITION TITLE: GROUND MAINTENANCE WORKER

Job Summary:
The Ground Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of outdoor spaces. This role includes performing a variety of landscaping and grounds keeping tasks such as planting, mowing, pruning, irrigation, and general upkeep of green areas. The individual will also operate and maintain equipment, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and assist with storm preparations as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Skilled in implementing effective techniques for planting, pruning, cultivating, and irrigating trees, shrubs, hedges, and lawns.
- Replace and plant flowers, grass, shrubs, trees, and bushes as necessary to maintain vibrant landscapes.
- Operate and oversee the use of grounds-keeping equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, and train staff to address issues such as faulty sprinkler heads or damaged pipes.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on grounds-keeping equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Clear walkways and parking areas of debris to maintain clean and safe environments.
- Apply fertilizers and manage pest control as needed to promote healthy plant growth.
- Address client or management concerns regarding grounds conditions, appearance, or required improvements.
- Collaborate with management to set maintenance goals, priorities, and schedules.
- Perform facility maintenance tasks and provide support in the absence of other maintenance personnel.
- Support hurricane and storm preparation efforts to ensure the safety and security of all clinic facilities.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the centers.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- At least four years related experience is required.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of lawn care and landscaping equipment, including performing basic upkeep and repairs.
- Knowledgeable in the use of fertilizers and nutrients required to sustain healthy lawns and diverse vegetation around our clinic properties.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects and equipment, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to climb, stoop, crouch, and reach while performing maintenance tasks.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and storms.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power equipment, and machinery with precision and safety.
- Strong vision and hearing for tasks such as operating machinery, identifying hazards, and ensuring proper care of outdoor spaces.
- Capability to complete repetitive tasks and sustain productivity throughout the workday.
- Maintain situational awareness to avoid accidents while working with tools, chemicals, or near machinery.
- Must be able to travel to various center locations as required.
