What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Support Representative position at Suncoast Credit Union?
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of the Accounting Department
- Balance and research discrepancies in branch and teller products
- Review back office and member products
- Research loan and insurance products
- Answer department phone calls and emails in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner
- Review and complete correction requests
- Upload journal vouchers
- Prepare clearing entries for items on assigned reconciliations and submits them for approval
- Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
- Complete annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program
- Complete FACT Act Red Flag training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in an accounting department for a financial institution or similar position
- Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of the credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Ability to communicate information requiring explanation or interpretation
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
