Company Overview
Compensation: $18.00 - $26.00 hourly based on experience and credentials
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (training is held onsite for the first 3 months)
The work model is hybrid, combining remote and onsite hours. The candidate must be onsite one day a week.
The Accounting Support Representative plays a vital role in the smooth operations of the Accounting Department. Key responsibilities include diligently researching and clearing outstanding items to decrease risk to the credit union. An ideal candidate gives high priority to accurately balancing and reconciling general ledger account assignments in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of the Accounting Department
- Balance and research discrepancies in branch and teller products
- Review back office and member products
- Research loan and insurance products
- Answer department phone calls and emails in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner
- Review and complete correction requests
- Upload journal vouchers
- Prepare clearing entries for items on assigned reconciliations and submits them for approval
- Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
- Complete annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program
- Complete FACT Act Red Flag training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in an accounting department for a financial institution or similar position
- Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of the credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Ability to communicate information requiring explanation or interpretation
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
