Compensation: $18.00 - $26.00 hourly based on experience and credentials
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible hybrid) with a rotating schedule from 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The Loan Processor supports the centralized processing area through the processing, closing, and disbursing of consumer loans and pre-approved drafts. Key responsibilities include loan maintenance on existing loan accounts and performing tasks associated with securing liens on collateralized loans and pledge loans. This individual performs all duties in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and state regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities
- Process, close, and disburse a variety of titled collateral loans, including purchases from lease companies or individuals, refinances from other lending institutions, and purchases from dealerships
- Process, close, and disburse a range of personal loans, including secured, unsecured, open-end, and closed-end products
- Ensure collateral is appropriately secured on share pledge and share certificate pledge personal loans
- Process, close, and disburse ancillary product add-ons loans for members with existing Suncoast Credit Union vehicle loans
- Cultivate a positive rapport with consumer loan applicants, buyers, sellers, other financial institutions, internal departments, and DMV representatives
- Facilitate phone calls and electronic communications to answer questions in accordance with established performance standards and benchmarks
- Prepare loan and department of motor vehicle documents, obtaining required signatures
- Disburse loan proceeds, cross-sells ancillary products, and perfects liens on collateralized loans
- Prepare, monitor, and complete title work for collateralized vehicle loans on refinances, individual purchases, and lease buy-outs
- Complete member loan maintenance requests, including application requests consisting of auto workouts, recreational workouts, unsecured workouts, and credit card rewrite
- Monitor the disbursement of payment to dealers either through ACH or mail, verification of lien perfection, and the release of liens on trade-in titles
- Prepare, monitor, and complete title work for collateralized vehicle loans on refinances, individual purchases, lease buy-outs, and out-of-state dealerships
- Monitor, label, and assign applications in the consumer loan origination system queues to ensure proper handling within established departmental timelines
- Sort, organize and resolve consumer loan processing mail
- Alert staff to articles received and uploaded into application, send payoffs and related documents to other financial institutions, send loan instruments to members, file documents, and ensure clean desk items are secured in the department vault at the end of shift
- Support Service Centers and Member Care Centers with loan document preparation, loan processing and disbursements, booking errors, title work, and error correction requests related to Quality Control auditing
- Issue or cancel GAP and Mechanical Repair Coverage policies when funding the loan
- Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge and remain current with compliance guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience as a loan processor with a financial institution
- Proficient math skills to calculate title fees, sales tax, documentary stamps, and loan-to-value ratios
- Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities, including the Military Lending Act, Truth In Lending Act, and FACT Act
- Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Ability to analyze and resolve routine problems or situations
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Ability to communicate information requiring explanation or interpretation
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
